The concept of clan has profound influence on people, forming a unique scenery of China. The village misery is also important in her work, molding typical Chinese character image, and manifesting the fusion of Chinese and Western misery consciousness. The title of the third chapter is "the blending of Chinese and the Western esthetic appeal".
