Recently, Confucianism has been one of the academic researches. Among Confucian classic works, The Analects of Confucius is of an significant meaning to the study of Confucianism. Since it recorded the words and deeds of Confucius and his students through quotation, it takes on reality; moreover, as a work of quotation, from which we may extract Confucius's frustration and find out the process of Confucianism diffusion, it possesses narration. At present, the ways to study Confucianism are various, but it is uncommon to do the job from the perspective of the frustration of Confucianism. The writing emphasizes particularly on this new angle of view to hunt how Confucianism diffused at that time, and provides four kinds of frustration of Confucianism revealed by The Analects, which are: in politics, in using courtesy, in sad life full of exclusion and setbacks, and in oppugnation from the other schools. By analyzing the specific details, I figured out three reasons why Confucius confronted these frustrations which are the conflict between idealization of Confucianism and his counterparts' eagerness for success, the admixture of radicalness and conservativeness, and earthy hyrarchy. After analysis, the revelation to the modern study of the Confucianism can be got. The frustration of Confucianism is an important part in The Analects, also easily ignored, however, this novel view will guide us to understand and study Confucianism with a deeper and more fresh direction.
