The vocabulary learning is one of important contents of English study. With the development of the knowledge about the significance of the vocabulary acquisition, how to strengthen and improve the vocabulary teaching has become one of important fields in English teaching. To some degree, whether or not the vocabulary teaching is successful will have direct effects on the quality of English teaching.Traditionally, foreign language researchers and educators have probed into the vocabulary teaching theoretically and practically on the second language acquisition, linguistics, psychology, pedagogy and have obtained great accomplishment, but because of the big differences among the philosophical background of researches, theories and methods, research frames in the field of vocabulary researches, the findings and achievements are incompatible with one another, which lower the reliability and validity of the research achievements.It is worth mentioning that there is a new trend in second language acquisition, especially in the aspects of second language vocabulary teaching. That is, researchers begin to pay more attention to the cognition and mental states of English learners themselves in the course of lexical learning and acquisition, based on the analysis of this course as well as the feasible laws of the obstacles in lexical retrieval process in one's mind.The thesis has probed into the vocabulary acquisition from the perspective of the lexical access theory, integrating with the cognitive science, combing the traditional attribution of the speech errors , once again elucidate and clear the wrong phenomena during the course of the vocabulary acquisition from the perspective of lexical access theory and further provide a possible revelation for vocabulary teaching, this change reflects the objective request of vocabulary teaching and offer available theory perspective for language researchers, i.e., it has the influence of methodology. With the development and research of cognitive science and its combination with vocabulary teaching, it will offer a new way for improvement and promotion of vocabulary teaching.
