The Application Of Chinese Version Of Type D Personality Scale In Chinese Community-dwelling Population

Objective:This study was to examine the reliability and validity of Chinese version of type D personality scale(DS14)based on the 2-element personality model,which had been advanced by Denollet et al. To evaluate the DS14's application properties in the community-dwelling groups,and to explore risk factors of cardiovascular disease。Methods:According to the two personality elements model theories, the Chinese version of type D personality comprises of 14 items split into two factors-negative affectivity(NA)and social inhibition(SI).1635 adults age range 16 to 88 years old were sampled from ChangSha YuHua District.The average age was 48.6±15.4 years,including 1025 males, whose average age was 48.8±15.5y,and 610 females with average age 48.1±15.2y.The Cronbach's alpha coefficients and Person's relationship coefficients were used to estimate internal consistency of DS14.The stability was assessed based on the test-retest data of 100 adults with an average interval of 2 weeks.The construct validity of the DS14 was also examined in this study.Try to analyze the risk factors of cardiovascular disease by logistic regression.Results:(1)the test-retest reliability coefficients of NA and SI were 0.79 and 0.82;Cronbach's alpha coefficients for the three subtests ranged from 0.87 to 0.88(NA)and from 0.72 to 0.76(SI),respectively. The split-half coefficients ranged from 0.81 to 0.86 and from 0.63 to 0.70,respectively.Our results indicated that DS14 is internal consistent, and corresponds to theoretical frame of type D personality.The confirmatory factor analysis supports the two-dimension structure (AGFI 0.87-0.90,TLI 0.88-0.90,CFI 0.90-0.93,RMSEA 0.07-0.08).(2) multivariate unconditional Logistic regression were used deeply to find out whether type D personality,age,cholesterol,triglyceride,low density lipoprotein,have statistic link with cardiovascular disease,the odds(the ratio of probability of occurrence to non-occurrence of an events)are 1.71,1.13,1.77,8.72,3.10 respectively.Conclusions:1.These empirical analyses and results support the construct validity of DS14- Chinese version.And the reliability was acceptable,and met psychometric properties.2.Type D personality was a risk factor of cardiovascular disease...
