An Analysis Of Xunzi' Making Use Of The Tianming

The paper analyzes the proposition of "making use of the commander of t'ien", makes clear the meanings of the proposition, and then offers my own idea: His proposition not only analyzed the t'ien dao, but also analyzed the ren dao; the proposition appeared his concept of the social-history—Man is the animals who live in the order of his own, man should live according to the Rituals and the laws. Xunzi's interest was not in the nature, but in the man himself. By analyzing the four meanings of t'ien, we can understand the concept of it. Not only it was different from that of Confucius and Mencius, but also it was different from that of Laozi and Zhuangzi, it had the meanings of them, man came from nature and went back to nature—the order of man himself. He wanted to close the Confucian and the Taoism.At first, the paper will analysis the proposition and put forward my opinion; Then the paper will answer why Xunzi would put forward his proposition; Finally the paper will explain the Dao in the xianqin period of China and how Xunzi summarized the scholars; At last, paper will discuss xin's important role in Xunzi's theory, the xin of knowledging is for the basis and the xin of morality is for guaranteeing, so the theory of xin initiated two directions of xin in Chinese philosophy.Additionally, I will try to point out that the proposition had the function of permeating Xunzi's thought, and it played the role of building the coordinate of Xunzi's thoughts.
