On Liang Shiqiu's Literary Criticism In His Early Times

Liang Shiqiu is a unique critic in China literary criticism history. In the early time, he appeared in the literary arena as he criticizes 5.4 new-vernacular literature movements, then he became the focal point with the controversy of Lu Xun. So, he has been the character who receives disputed. Then we can excavate his thought of literature esthetics.This article is divided into four chapters. First from the debate of Liang Shiqiu and Zhu Guangqian about "the beauty of literature", we elaborate the literary criticism ontology characteristic. It's an independent noun in Liang Shiqiu's literary criticism which stresses two sides of the beauty of form and ethic. Liang Shiqiu's literary criticism standard is unique through comparison "the beauty of literature" and "esthetics". The second chapter combs the theory resources and understands overall frame of Liang Shiqiu's literary criticism theory: centering on the theory of humanity, taking the value estimation and ethics choice as a technique, and finally forming a strong, serious, pure aesthetic style. Liang Shiqiu's literary criticism is full to flawless pursue, which is the fusion of the West humanism and the Confucianist doctrine of the mean thought.
