[Objective]:In recent years, Internet addiction disorder (IAD) has become one of the major topics in the research of psychology. By selecting 781 middle-school students as subjects, this paper probed into the relations among self-concept , mental-health and IAD of middle-school students , in order to bring to light those influential dimensions which result in the middle-school students' inclination of internet addiction disorder, and to provide with some trains of thought to intensify the self--concept and improve health development of the middle-school students, thus to help to take active and effective measures to prevent or intervene those negative influences brought by middle-school students' over-use of internet.[Methods]:Using literature and questionnaire method , the author consults many relative documents , and investigated 781 middle-school students of Changsha, Xiangtan and Shaoyang in Hunan with Yong's Internet Addiction Test, Fitts' Self-concept Test and Symptom Checklist 90,SCL-90).Finally , this paper conducted statistical analysis by mean of SPSS13.0 for windows.[Conclusions]:1.There are sex differences and grade differences in middle--school students' Internet addiction disorder; 2. There are sex diffenreces , grade differences and family locuses difference in middle-school students' self-concept; 3. There are sex diffenrece, grade differences and family locuses difference in middle-school students' mental-health; 4. There are differences in surfing places,online activities and onlining time factors between addiction and non-addiction students ; 5. There are differences in self-concept and mental-health between addiction and non-addiction students; 6. Mental-health is a mediate variable between self-concept and internet addiction disorder.Finally, some pieces of advice were proposed aimed at the characteristics and origin of IAD of middle-school students based on the conclusions, and a detailed educational and psychological intervention programme is disigned. |
