The Study Of Some Issues Concerning The War Of Suppressing The Revolt In Guangxi During The Early Qing Dynasty

The major historical event of suppressing the Sanfan revolt during the early Qing Dynasty, was regarded as the first thing of consolidating the Qing Dynasty's governance. The war of suppressing a revolt in Guangxi is one important part of it , also, is one of the important contents in safeguarding and consolidating national unity. This issue of Sanfan revolt has been carefully studied for a long time with great achievements. But scholars have some different opinion on history and historical people of Guangxi in early Qing Dynasty. Therefore, I choose The Study of Some Issues concerning Suppressing the Revolt in Guangxi during the Early Qing Dynasty as the topic of my graduate paper, analyzing the people which played important role in the war of Guangxi.This paper is under the guidance of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, based on summarizing the results of previous studies, taking the suppression of Sanfan revolt for the micro background, the safeguarding national unity as the theme, to analyze fore main person of Kong Sizhen , Sun Yanling ,Fu Honglie and Emperor Kangxi.This paper mainly consists of five parts.In Part I, it describes the process of Kong Youde building force in Guilin. As for unifying the whole country , the Qing government set up local army in the south ,which leaded to the conflict between the Qing central government in consolidating national unity and local governor's interests.In Part II, it analyzes the Qing government's strategy to the force of Kong Youde . The central government in order to consolidate its rule, took different strategy in different historical periods, which leaded to different results.In Part III, it analyzes the reasons for the failure of Sun Yanling involving in the rebellion of Wu Sangui .Sun Yanling was in two minds about revolt, his wife Kong Sizhen helped him to surrender to the Qing central government, and most of people opposed the revolt, so Sun Yanling's insurgency went to failure.In Part IV, it analyzes Fu Honglie's struggle for safeguarding national unity, evaluates the achievements and the historical status of Fu Honglie.In Part V, it discusses some issues relating to the war of suppressing the Revolt in Guangxi with the theory of historical materialism. Some scholars have different view on these problems: (1) The essential reason for the victory of suppressing the revolt in Guangxi, I think that it lies in the war's justice and the people's support to quell the rebellion. (2) The problem of the evaluation on Emperor Kangxi's contribution from Mao Zedong . Mao Zedong's scientific evaluation on Emperor Kangxi, further affirmed the Kangxi's achievements and contributions in the maintenance of national unity. (3) The problem about the Qing militaries's merits and demerits in the unification of China, the standard of evaluating a regime is that , whether the regime's policy is conducive to national stability and ethnic unity, and whether it is conducive to social development and the advancement of history. (4) The problem about the historical status of Fu Honglie. Fu Honglie had made great achievement in safeguarding national unity , he should be regarded as a patriotic heroes. (5) Kong Sizhen and the value of Dingyue temple bell in Fubo hell, Kong Sizhen played an important role in maintaining national unity and stability, the temple bell with historical value is the witness of the early Qing Dynasty history and the symbol of national unityThe conclusion summarizes the main points of this paper. It comes out the realization on the unification of China by Qing and people's effect in history.
