The Research About The Relationships Between The Internet Addiction Students' Realistic Personality And Network Personality

Internet addiction research is very popular in recent years , and the study of Internet addicts on the personality traits is also one of the area. But the research is only concerned about internet addicts' personality which displays in the real life, very few people concerned about Internet addicts' personality in another virtual network world . This is the most recent researchers have proposed the concept of a network personality, specifically to refer in the internet user the personality which displays in the network world. At present the discussion about the internet user's network personality, is mostly theoretically, the empirical studies are very rare, and there is no workable scale. Therefore, this research embarks from Eysenck's personality theory, selects the Eysenck personality questionnaire to survey the network user's personality in real life, and establishes corresponding network personality questionnaire to survey the internet user's network personality, and then study the relationship between the realistic personality and the network personality.This research select Wuhan university students, the research divides into two stages: firstly, the establishment of network. Personality questionnaire . The establishment of network Personality questionnaire is based on the existing personality scale. the researcher initially select the Eysenck Personality questionnaire version of China (EPQ-RSC) to measure Internet users' realistic personality, and establishes the network personality questionnaire, then according to the exploring factor analysis about 188 students' data , makes the revision to the questionnaire, obtains the more reasonable network personality questionnaire. Stage 2:Formal experiment. Composing the questionnaires of Internet Addiction questionnaire (20 items), Eysenck Personality questionnaire version of China (EPQ-RSC, 48 items) and the network Personality questionnaire (48 items) as the overall questionnaires ,after the group-experiment on the undergraduate students in WuHan area,343 valid data were collected at last. The confirmatory factor analysis indicates that four-component personality structure of network personality model is optimal.The study reveals that :1.The network personality's structure can be constituted by four compents,they are neuroticism, psychoticism, introversion-extroversion and lie.2. Internet Addiction score has a significant positive correlation with Neuroticism and a significant negative correlation with lie dimension, the positive correlations with psychoticism and introversion-extroversion dimensions are not significant.this reals that the higher the scores of Internet Addiction the students got, the more obvious outward they performance in the network world; the addicts group perform more outward than non-addicts group, they are so active in the network world. on the dimensions of neuroticism, the addiction group's score is higher than the non-addicted group, they are more easily impulse, adventure and emotional instability in internet contact.3. Internet Addiction students' realistic personality and the network personality has a high positive correlation, each dimension's performance of them has the remarkable difference, it indicates that the network personality and the realistic personality both unifies, and also has the difference.
