Ryunosuke Akutagawa's Chinese Classical Theme Novel Creation

Ryunosuke Akutagawa (1891-1927) was one of representative writers during the Taisho time in Japan. He was learned, melted the East and West culture, not only had deep western learning accomplishment, but also achieved the Chinese culture. Mustard Sichuan had accepted the Chinese culture since childhood, and started to study the sinology, such as "the Japanese Kind of novel", "Journey to the West", "Heroes of the Marshes" and so on. When we read the mustard Sichuan's works, the novel, essay, the travel notes and the commentary, may find the massive Chinese literary reference and the poetry. Because he had the deeply accomplishment of sinology, 10% of his 148 novels selected suitable materials from Chinese classical literature. He absorbed the nutrition from classic works, and created again. His works had the romanticism and the foreign character and style, entirely different with the original.This paper takes Du Zichun as the center, summarizing in the research before, combining his living experience, comparing with the source-book, inquiring mustard Sichuan's creative method about the Chinese classical novels as well as his literature's charm, and further explaining the relationships between Ryunosuke Akutagawa and Chinese classical literatures.This paper is made up five parts. The first part mainly narrates the motive and the significance. The second part mainly discuses why did Ryunosuke Akutagawa favored of Japanese and Chinese classical theme, and the origin of Chinese classical theme. The third part takes Du Zichun as the center, comparing with the source-book, combining the writer's special living experiences to analyze mustard Sichuan's innovation about Chinese classical model.
