Humor language is the art language of comprehensive employment of various kinds of knowledge, such as grammar, vocabulary, rhetoric and logic skills. We can obtain some knowledge of the social values, norms and cultural features of a given nation through humor language. The author holds that humor language is interdisciplinary and involves a broad knowledge of other fields. It is worthwhile for us to conduct a further study on humor language from many other angles and perspectives.The special research on humor language form the circle of Russian language in China has not played to the full. Besides, the limited existent researches attach much importance to the analysis of Russian jokes while pay less attention on the comparative study with Chinese humor language. Therefore, based on the achievement of the forerunners and under the guide of relevant theories in pragmatics, rhetoric and inter-cultural communication, the author does a much more complete and systematic study on Chinese humor language and Russian humor language by applying the methods of contrastive study.Firstly, the author gives a clear definition of the concept of humor language based on the definitions put forward by other scholars. The paper proceeds to generalize the basic features of humor language, and list different forms of Russian humor language and Chinese humor language. The author tries to find out the generative rules and understanding mechanism of humor language from the pragmatic perspective, which lays the foundation for follow-up study.Secondly, the author explores the skills and methods employed in the humor language from the perspective of rhetoric. In addition, he testifies the frequently-used typical productive methods of laughter based on many samples from the perspective of phonetics, style of writing, rhetoric, and vocabulary respectively.In the end, the author discusses the factors of the national cultural contexts contained in the Chinese humor language and Russian humor language from the following aspects: cultural connotative meanings of the words, cultural meanings of the slang and phrases, social life and folk ways, popular discourse, literary works, background of politics and history, features of the verbal language of the typical figures; and the author fully testifies that humor language is closely-linked with the culture.Humor language is multi-functional, complex and inviting research field. The author does this study in order to provide an available and easy way to use and understand humor; and help the Russian language learners strengthen their ability in understanding and using humor language, and timely make full use of humor language during the verbal communication in order to the successful realization of the communicative aims.
