Mr. Gao Heng's Study Of Book Of Poetry

On the one hand, Mr. Gao Heng's study of Book of Poetry is based on the textual research valued by scholars of Jia Qian Period in Qing Dynasty. But as a modern scholar, on the other hand, his pursuit in his studies has been influenced by Materialism. Hence, he can make a breakthrough and put forward his personal insights into the questions up in the air concerning the study of Book of Poetry. As a consequence, he presents a new interpretetion about the text of Book of Poetry and broadens the vision of the study of Book of Poetry as well. However, there also lie some preconceptions about his study of Book of Poetry.In order to use it for today's study for refererence, the thesis bases itself upon the coordination of literature, sums up the achievements and his major approaches of Mr. Gao Heng's study of Book of Poetry in a systematic way, and have an objective look at some of his preconceptions.The first part of the thesis deals with the brief introduction of Mr. Gao Heng's life story as well as the background information of his study of Book of Poetry.The second part of the thesis is conducted with Mr. Gao Heng's ideas and achievements concerning the basis study of Book of Poetry from the five perspectives such as the filing, the volumes, Mao Shi Xu, the categories, the clime and the time respectively.The third part of the thesis introduces Mr. Gao Heng's accomplishments concerning his commentary of Book of Poetry from the following three perspectives such as emendating the text, paraphrasing the context, explaining the theme of poems in details and summarizes some of his methods of notation of Book of Poetry which are beneficial for our research.The fourth part of the thesis is concerned about Mr. Gao Heng's study of Book of Poetry under the guidance of Materialism.The fifth part of the thesis analyses the reasons about the preconceptions of Mr. Gao Heng's study of Book of Poetry, combined by the critics made by the public.The sixth part of the thesis is the concluding summary, which sums up Mr. Gao Heng's success concerning his study of Book of Poetry and the significance for the contemperay study of Book of Poetry.
