Benjamin Allegory Theory-Allegory Theory Rationality In Chinese Culture Criticism

"Allegory" is the core concept of Benjamin's "Tragic Origin of Germany", it is also the very basic of his tasting on literature which went through in all his scientific works. The allegory theory of long standing in western literature thoughts provided a luxuriant source for Benjamin's allegory theory. Benjamin expressed his deep thinking on aesthetics by analyzing and discussing the tragedies of Baroque who is from Germany as a sample. He kept exploring and revealing the aesthetic particularity of allegory. And he made further and further study on the allegory theory which was set up in "Tragic Origin of Germany" and fulfilled his own integrated aesthetic thoughts and theories. Breaking is the main aesthetic character of allegory, multiple meaning is the important inner character of allegory, melancholy is the emotional character of allegory while isolation is the tasting result generated by allegory.In 1970's, Marxism came to China from western world. Benjamin's allegory theory called attention from Chinese theoretician critic gradually and became an efficient form for Chinese temporary using western criticism method as reference after "the psychoanalysis criticizes" and "the myth prototype criticizes ." Benjamin's allegory theory offered us not only the apocalypse on methodology but also the spirit and social responsibilities of close combining of theories and realities which were shown in the methodology, which is most requested in Chinese culture criticism.
