It is obvious that language has its meaning only under cultural background and culture is the ground on which language can exist and develop. Culture is a complexity including specific things, knowledge, belief, art, moral, laws, custom, competence and habits we get from nature and society. The study of culture has developed into a new approach to undertake the study on literature because the relation between the text and the outside world is what it mainly concerned.Different scholars have made various classification of culture based on their own knowledge and their comprehension of the world. According to the formality of culture, it is classified into four types: material culture, system culture, activity culture and mentality culture. The traditional definition of translation has changed so much that it must "switch from a single linguistics-oriented definition to a plurality of culturally inspired definitions. The study of translation as a means of communication should break out of the confines of language and enter a broader cross-cultural context. An approach of translation after cultural turn and language functions are also mentioned a little for the further study of cultural turn.At last, the dissertation comes to the study on translation strategies of culture in Outlaws of the Marsh. There are several problems mainly discussed about cultural translation inculding the ones generated by lack of cultural-loaded referents, by difference derived from gramma, by different ways in which people express the same comcept, by different associations sprung from the same object in the source language and target language, by difference in the speech sounds between two languages.
