This thesis attempts to trace back the source of Shen Cong wen's myth thought, analyzes its specific demonstrations in his Xiang Xi fictions, and explores the unique value of these contexts by introducing the cultural anthropological concept of 'myth thought'.Chapter One begins with the background of Xiang Xi Wu-Chu culture, it aims to trace back Shen Cong wen's myth thought.Section One: Briefly analyzes the characteristics of myth thought, such as intuitive, metaphoric, symbol and emotional.Section Two: Shen Cong wen's myth thought is the 'survival' of Xiang Xi Wu-Chu culture in which he grows up. Differentiate the metaphoric concept of 'myth' from the one in mythology or stylistics definitions.Chapter Two analyzes the characteristics of myth thought which are demonstrated in Shen Cong wen's Xiang Xi fictions from four aspects.Section One: Cutting from the temporal intuitivism, the temporal cycle of four seasons and the spatial intuitivism, it analyzes Shen's metaphoric expression of how to construct a perpetual tribe of myth.Section Two: 'Countryman' is the perfect idol in Shen Cong wen's opinion. And the Xiang Xi people who have both human nature and divine nature own the true love.Section Three: Xiang Xi people admire God. Only do they have the mind of living with God in harmony can they worship the God and live lives with perseverance.Section Four: Xiang Xi people have a mysterious thinking mode of mutual infiltration, which leads to their firm belief that fate is set by Heaven beforehand. There is a mutual infiltration between human and animals, which is the survival of Totem.Chapter Three summarizes the research value of this thesis.Section One: Myth thought provides plentiful imagination for Shen Cong wen's fictions.Section Two: Myth thought is also a wing of rational thought. They integrate with each other in fictions. Shen Cong wen's rational thought is promoted by myth thought which is special, mysterious and logical.
