At present, academia attaches little importance to the study of contemporary art history. Let alone that of contemporary regional art history. The regional painting style is universal in contemporary art. So its impact on mainstream painting style can't be underestimated.Since Ming and Qing Dynasty, the achievement of landscape paining in Jiangsu province is comparatively outstanding. Although the development of flower and bird painting had its great influence, it didn't form an overall strength. After the foundation of "green bine, white sun" about Jiangsu flower and bird painting in Ming Dynasty, this kind of painting inherited Zhu Zhe's expressionism in the early Qing Dynasty. Then it experienced the great brilliance and came into "yangzhoubaguai"in Qing Dynasty. At the end of Qing Dynasty, it formed into "Maritime School". However, during its development, resulting from historical reasons, Jiangsu flower and bird painting had ever been confined, which led it to stagnancy.With the development of teaching in college, flower and bird painting of Jiangsu appeared new visage.The contemporary figures, such as Xu Beihong and Liu Haisu, had ever gone abroad for study, which laid a solid foundation for western study and they are founders of Modern Art Education. Their paintings show unique styles by integrating Chinese skills and Western ones. These styles brought fresh, powerful and strong tinge to Chinese painting field at that time. Since painting school of Yangzhou, flower and bird painting was slowly developing., the huge task of developing Jiangsu flower and bird painting should be taken by artists who were born around 1950's because of their age (nearly fifties). Luyue zi ,Xupei chen and Jianghong wei are represent. They are in kismet, active thoughts, rich life experiences, good adaptive capacity. They have courage in innovate and practice without any limitation. Therefore, they have been in the best condition of creation skills, abilities, thoughts and energy. This group of painters is the backbone of Jiangsu flower and bird painting.Now, this group of painters will definitely bring it to great brilliance and their achievements ,and it will be written in books of art history.With background of the position and influence of flower and bird painting art in China, this paper attempts to summarize the outline and the inheritance relationship of Jiangsu flower and bird art style. In this way, the author wants to offer relative reference to contemporary study of flower and bird painting. |
