| In modern times, the engraving as a member of the arts categories, take on the heavy responsibility of the national spirit transmission, which is also a historical choice of engraving in contemporary China with the internal and external problems. However, in the twisting and varying development process of Chinese engraving, the artists'regards and developments on the spiritual connotation and artistic extension of the engraving art are the most crucial issues of the contemporary Chinese engravingFirst, this thesis makes a significant in-depth analysis of the background of the 1930s and the 1940s woodcut art in the two areas: the liberated area and the area governed by Kuomingtang. Referring to the two areas woodcut art which is a special political concept, it is necessary to sort out the birth of the new prints as well as the features of the times of the woodcut art in the two areas. So this thesis starts from the May 4th Movement, at what time the traditional Chinese art pattern was completely broken, the artists began to use a new language to express social conflicts, gives depth analysis of the culture phenomena of the beginning of the post-left-wing cultural and ideological culture trends emerging after the coming of the Marxism to China. And we give the reason of why this thesis chooses the woodcut art in the two areas as its trail, as well as theoretical basis. Then, we believe that the real value of the woodcut art in the two areas is not on the technical language, but through these superficial study of deep-seated spiritual values, the article gives systematic study focused on the cultural and ideological trends of the two areas'woodcut——left-wing literary and artistic trend. Left-wing literary and artistic ideas played a decisive role in art history, whether its origination as well as the future development is worthwhile to continue in-depth study. Comments on this objective and rigorous thought of the left-wing cultural symptom are given. Exposition and recognition are also provided to its rationality and advancement, its scientificalness and absurdity. And we also carry out deconstruction of the left-wing literary and artistic ideas, on the one hand, from the art"popularization"contained in the left-wing literary and artistic ideas, pointed out the political orientation of art"popularization", and analysis its merits and demerits. On the other hand, from the left-wing literary and artistic trend projection, proposed that the spirit of the left-wing's"Utopia"is the feeling of dissatisfaction in view of the reality, and the longing of the future vision of a better life, and the thesis setting this into a separate part is that we believe if we abandon the"Utopian"people will lose the desire to shape history, which will also lost a lot of valuable things.Finally, though the first two parts of the research and analysis, we directly point out the spirit aspirations of contemporary engraving art. Faced with the growing weakening of the spirit of the contemporary art, we carry out criticizing the social alienation of the social crisis of belief in goods and the loss of idealism etc., also, analyzing the contemporary art symptoms in case of the current materialistic desires, and the collapsing of the traditional culture, the decaying of spirit of the evolution of for analysis. We also give some examples of the contemporary artist's engraving works, and as a continuation of the sequence of the previous chapter, give further elaboration statement to the left-wing cultural thought, popular art, Utopia sentiment, and re-recognize and re-evaluate the significance of the left-wing spirit in the two areas based on repelling its component of vulgar sociology. We believe that contemporary art should address social illnesses and bear the mission of the moral criticizing and humanistic care, rebuild the relationship with social people. |
