Between Metaphysics And Logos

The Spring and Autumn Period is of great importance in historical research, because it is a period of dramatic transitions in social politics, culture, economics, social structure, social thoughts, etc. Compared to the age before it, the Spring and Autumn Period has a significant character, which is the emergence of the consciousness of "human". From then on, the declaration, the reiteration and the application of "human" have dominating the topics of the thinkers and politicians. Emphasis of "human" has also begun to illuminate the rational spirit, influencing profoundly more than two thousand years henceforth. Zuo Zhuan chronicled this period, and reflected the crucial transitions.There are a chunk of prophetic materials in Zuo Zhuan, which have got different explanations of the scholars. Some admitted that these materials were only superstitions of the author, and others declared that they were greatly important to the research of social history. To recognize the exact compiling year is also working hard by some scholars. These achievements should be inherited by us. But they didn't see the significance of the materials in the social history and the history of ideas.In the following text, I will seriously talk about the ideas and society reflected by the prophetic materials. With my analysis, I hope my readers can feel the transformation from metaphysics to logos in this period. I am not going to simply discuss the "alternation", but the two tiers of the historical ideas in the cultural transition. I have noticed the large quantities of materials and restating of "human" in the material, which are my substantial grounds of argument. And in the conclusion, I will try to explain that the social economics, the limitation of knowledge and the inheritance of witchcraft as well as the control function of primitive thinkings are all the factors in forming the prophetic materials.
