A Survey Of The Language Application In Public In Chengdu

Standardization of the application of the Chinese language contributes a lot to our construction and development. As the most important center of international communication and cooperation, those big and middle cities are focused on their status of language application. And Chengdu as one of the tourist city, impressing Southwest China and even the whole China, its language not only provides a great guidance for language application in public but also affects the image of Chengdu to some extent. So there is a theoretical and pragmatic necessity to survey the application of language in public in Chengdu.After a survey of the status of language application in public in Chengdu, the thesis tries to analyze the specialty and reason for the de-standardization of language application in hope of cause the attention of the academic circle and local government who the author hope to take measures and promote the standardization of the application of language in Chengdu.The thesis consists of four parts, of which introduction is the first part, listing studies related to the topic, giving the purpose of the study and defining the object, scope and method of the study. The second part reflects the present status of language application in Chengdu from the following five aspects: wording, syntax, grammar, rhetoric and comparison of Chinese and English. The third part analyzes the reason both from subjective elements of speakers and objective elements such as lacking an effective standard. And the last part provides measures hoping to solve those problems.
