Experiencing Edge

Lines are one of the basic form elements in painting and also the prime and most primitive presenting form that human beings use to reflect the world . Edge-line is the basic form of lines, edge- line as image mould is the first and also the last forming element. In presenting aspects of oil painting works, also it has important values. It includes the grasping problem of the whole and the integral part such as mould of shape and space, rise and fall of the structure and the control of turn , distribution of color region , and change of quality feel and light and shadow . Edge line occupies an important place in the deep portrayal of works . Also it can make the content of works present more sufficiently and intensify the meaning of the theme . Edge line portrayed by using different presenting technique presents painting style of the artist's personality and reflects the artist's different ways of expressing his feelings . In one excellent painting works , the portrayal of edge line must be appropriate and flash . So taking line as a necessary content of researching artist's works is a necessary research topic . Starting with edge line investigating artist's observing way and presenting method , analysing painting technique elements of the works and experimenting and summarizing them in my own creation can make me have a better understanding and improvement in mould and feeling, of shape of oil painting.
