Adjective in the modern Chinese is a relatively larger Content Words category, in which its internal category is also complicated. Much has been done in the research into adjectives in the past. However, more attention has been paid to the corresponding relationship between parts of speech and syntax. By analyzing Chinese sentence with European grammar, the unique characteristic of Chinese grammar is neglected. Chinese is a language without the change of forms, but we should not consider it simple. The study of Chinese grammar should focus on the mutual verification in semantics. At the same time, because Chinese has no form change, so it prompts us to choose other means to make up for this deficiency. The research into the meaning of sentence type is an attempt of Chinese scholars in this aspect. We think that a sentence as a whole is a complete form, and does not preclude the syntactic position also having a certain semantic significance. Based on the above analysis, the author has explored the position of adverbials to the choice and restriction of adjectives. This thesis can be divided into four parts: first, the position of adverbial is a syntax-semantics area; second, the nature and grammatical significance of the adverbial position; third, the relationship between adjective and the position of adverbials; fourth, analysis of the position of adverbials from a cognitive perspective .Through the exploration of these aspects, we discovered that the position of adverbials has the following semantic features: subjectivity, timing, displacement and temporary. The position of adverbial has no restriction on adjectives with expressing act, that is to say such adjectives can freely appear in the position of adverbial. But in essence, the adjective without expressing act has a restriction when they appear in the position of adverbial. Its conditions include: first, in semantics the adjective has a phase-suitability with the position of adverbial; second, the speaker forces the adjective appearing in the position of adverbial.
