The Study On Heraclitus' Flux Theory

During the whole development process of Ancient Greek philosophy, it appears to us that from the school of Miletus to Pythagoras then to Parmenides , the entire keynote of future philosophy development has been established. This main key is especially obvious in the thought of Pythagoras school: Pythagoras seeks the abstract principle for the first time, then he proposes the mathematical source theory, finally, he becomes the first person of molding the form of ancient Greece and even the entire Western philosophy. To some extent, afterward Parmenides, Plato, Aristotle and even recent Hegel is the "scholiast" to this "the form". Heraclitus seems to be a heresy in ancient Greek philosophy, and his flux theory has become "the first not the harmonic tone" in entire Western philosophy history, which presents a unique and touching prospect for the sake of the absolute certainty in ancient Greek philosophy and even in the mainstream of whole Western philosophy tradition.There are various approaches to study this obscure thinker's theory. The traditional approaches generally neglect the logical function in his entire philosophy, but take it as the focusing reflection of his dialectics thoughts, therefore, they highlight the significant importance of the flux theory in the aspect of dialectics thought. However, the paper mainly starts with the intrinsic logic from the Heraclitus' flux theory, the everliving fire theory, and the Logos theory. Through the analysis of the flux theory, the paper illustrates the unity of the opposites and their mutual existence and transformation. It enriches some brand new content in everliving fire theory and logos theory. They are neither the simple materiality originality, nor the abstract pure number or the rule. They own the developing process of opposition and struggling--"flux". The commonness of everything is "flux", and the completely understanding of "flux" can naturally lead to the everliving fire and Logos. Grasping this point, people can not only comprehend the flux theory as the same subject with the everliving fire theory and the Logos theory, but also they can better understand its dialectics significance better. Therefore, we can comprehend the key to Heraclitus research through understanding the flux theory correctly.
