Progressive Provincialism

Correggio is an important italian artist in the early 16 century,who has unique characteristic in his period.In the followed arthistory, Correggio be thought as an early Mannerist artist or one of the most early Baroque artist,even earlistly had somethings about Rococo art,and of course there are important influences come from Correggio to Italian Academic art also.He was most probably born in 1489,and the year he died is1534. Decided by the period of his career,he belong to early 16 century.But it is obviously that in his arts,there are some characteristics which portend the Mannerism Art of middle and late 16 century,Baroque art and Academic art of 17 century,and Rococo art of 18 century.It is the amazingprogressive accomplishment of Correggio.The city in which Correggio was born,give him his nickname. Correggio is nearby Parma and the two cities locate in the middle of north Italy.Correggio mostly worked for them and lived in.Parma belong to Lombardy region of north Italy in history.This area normally was the ligeance of Milan Duchy.Following the geography and administration,Parma belong to the province of Eamilia,in the middle of north Italy.Eamilia province and Lombardy region have their special history and culture tradition,their endemicity formed by the complication of race,language,history.These are different of the region of Tuscany.The thesis is in search of the causations of the formation of characteristics of Corrggio's art,by analysises about the history,the situation of culture and art in Lombardy,in the early thirty years of 16 century.And the analysises must be linked with the research about Correggio's art activity,art works and patrons,which is as important as the first analysis,if not more important.Correggio's art abound of the successes of space,movement and emotions,his art stule is a provincial style of High Renaissance in north Italy,but not an endemical one.The reasons why Correggio's provincialism can be progressiver than other artists in the period,the special cultural and art environment made by the city,the patrons and the location,which is outside of the big cultural,art centres,is the emphases of the thesis,which want answer how Correggio,the great artist developed his art style into a so progressive achievement.
