The ancient nomads, which were the important elements of human culture, give us a gloss of "chasing animals on the steppe, nonstop migrating without settling down", so that we have paid less attention to the nomadic inhabitation in a long time, because of the limit of their economy style and culture, and that little history recordation. In the latest 20 years, althought the studies about nomads have been more and more, the research about nomadic settlement have nearly been a naught. It is a pity compared with the particular research about agricultural culture.Based on the excavation of Dongheigou sit, this thesis mostly studies the relics, remains and interrelation of one stone pathpace and four stone buildings, and analyses the settlement pattern and entironment briefly. By referring to document, other sites and relics, this thesis deduces that Dongheigou site belonged to youzhi or xiongnu in the period of Zhanguo, Qin and Han. This thesis deems that the ancient nomadic settlement not only represented the character of old nomads, but also reflected the entironment, compared with the nomadic residential building on the Eurasian steppe. This thesis is the study innovation of nomadic settlement, and fill up this field. I wish it would promote the study of the nomadic settlement archaeology.
