With studying the types, the personal characters, the way of behavior, value and significance of the rebel images which is represented by the representative family novels in 30's-40's of 20th century; this article analyzed the cultural psychology of the writers which is disclosed by the writing motive;And then, by comparing the images of rebels between the ancient and the modern family novels, this paper revealed the development and evolution of the images in the current family novels and that the rebel images in modern family novels inherited from the ancient family novels. This paper tries to analyze the rebel images in the current family novels systemically and make an objective appraisal to its historical status and value.The first part categorized the rebel images in representative modern family novels to four types: the initially self-awareness awakener; the active participator of national liberation; the explorer in the introjections process of the individualism and collective consciousness; and the returnee of traditional culture, and then analyzed the personal characters and the behavior way of the rebels.The second part inquired the value and the significance of the rebel images which is affirmed from the literature, cultural and the historical development. And by analyzing the writing motives of the writers and the rebel images, this part revealed the cultural psychology of different writer's.The third part briefly analyzed relations between the ancient and modern family novels to point out that the figuring way of the rebel images in the ancient family novels influenced the way of modern family novels ,as well as development and evolution of the rebel images in the current family novels, trying to present some reference suggests for the writing of the current family novels.
