The thesis consists of three sections, the introduction, body text and conclusion. The body text can be divided into four parts. In the first part, the meaning of nature, natural education, and natural education ideal are defined, then the author analyzes the differences between the nature viewpoints of Laozi and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, that is, Tao follows Nature and Deism. Then it is pointed out that Laozi's ideal can be named as "the nature of Nature", and Jean-Jacques Rousseau's as "the nature of Human", since in the perspective of education process and result, the former gives priority to the dependence on Nature and the latter to the subjectivity and activity of Human. In the second and third parts of the body text, there are careful and penetrating comparisons centered on the subjects of "Returning to the Childhood and Natural Man", "Saint-Small Country and Citizen-Moral Country" between the two natural education ideals, from the angle of education's role in the development of individual and society. The fourth part gives a scientific evaluation on the two natural education ideals: on one hand, the ideals are explosive in human thinking and have huge impact on the development of future education thoughts; on the other, they are limited in transcendental premise, unilateral personality and social illusiveness. In the last part, the author puts forward three principles in the reconstruction of modern natural education ideal, that is, the combination of transcendentalism and experimentalism, of subjectivity and objectivity, of secularization and spiritualization.
