Colligating several classification method of Western symbol theory, classify "Drinking Symbol" as : Drinking Symbol of Action, Drinking Symbol of Image, Drinking Symbol of Indication, Drinking Symbol of Emblematize. Secondly, regarding the material used in the drinking apparatus as the main line, dividing the dynamic development history of Drinking Symbol into three phases: primitive instinct period, the self-awareness awakening period, the self-awareness development period. Analyzing of the various phases of the respective characteristics, sort out the main development historical context of the Drinking Symbol. Thirdly, on basis of the above two parts , taking the evolution of typical Drinking Symbol as the entry points, from external driving force and internal driving force to explore its development and evolution reason and law. External driving force will be summed up as changes of production and living content, emergence of new technologies and materials; Internal driving force will be summed up as improvement of people' ability on dealing with complicated information, richness of knowledge, experience and imagination, and so on.Targeting water apparatus to study traditional creating, enrich the traditional creating research method.
