The Application Of Special Angle Illusion In Visual Transmission Design

Visual transmission design is a design activity which uses visual symbol to exchange information. In special angle illusion, the observer was set on a special observation seat, from his point of view, a unusual or distorted image would change into a recognizable picture, which called visual illusion. This kind of design conception is in accordance with the trend of modem humanism and international design development, so it was used in many fields of visual transmission such as outdoors advertising, city direction, indoors exhibition and movie scene etc.This study began with the production mechanism of special visual illusion, the physiological and psychological cause of illusion were both investigated. The history and evolvement of special visual illusion were introduced, whose taste on the value of beauty was reviewed. And the relationship between special visual illusion and visual transmission was studied based on the visual identity , design condition and design principle. The main part of this study is Chapter 5 and Chapter 6 , in these two chapters , the design factor and realizing methods of special visual illusion were summed up by the numbers using perspective principle, then combined with practical design experience , all kinds of application examples were analyzed in detail, especially in outdoors advertising principle and city directions. In the end , from special point of view , the design conception of "over shoes over boots " was brought forward , which gave a opinion on how to use visual illusion make visual transmission design properly. The developing trend and prospecting of visual illusion were attributed in order to give some theoretical reference to our country's designing field.
