Following the design creed of"more beautiful things for everyday use"regarded by Scandinavian design, modern Finnish glass design has always lead the style and vogue of Nordic glass design and it has brought rich vigor to Scandinavian modern design. Active in all kinds of international interactions and exhibitions, Finnish glass design has owned peculiar position in the field of international design.This thesis focus on the development and evolution of Finnish glass design since the 20th century, especially during the 1930s to the 1960s when the west modern design developed greatly. In the third part, we resolve and induce the style development and change of Finnish glass from the beginning of the 20th century, emphasizing how the glass style thrived, spread and passed, so we can find a common image of modern Finnish glass design.
