This research is a simulation model based on EPIC and some other visual attention model. Attention is considered to play a role of monitoring and adjusting. The feasibility of this simulation model is supported by the research result concerning three highly debated questions: (1) whether visual processing is parallel or serial; (2) whether attentional selection is based on space or on object; (3) the reason for Attentional Blink. The result unifies several important but conflicting arguments of visual attention model, and proposes that: (1) perceptional processing is a course of parallel hierarchization, but the efficiency of attentional selection is determined by the task and the content in processing, which manifests in parallel and serial searching method; (2) the object of attentional selection can be feature or perceptional unit, which depends on the task and the content in processing; (3) Attentional Blink is attributed to the interaction of the capability and strategy of processing, the attentional adjusting realizes the variability of processing strategy.
