| The aim of art education is to cultivate personality, creativity and imagination, however .the present situation is far from it. As drawing teaching is the basis of all plastic subjects, there is no doubt it would become the emphasis of the reform of art education. Before we earn out the reform of the drawing teaching, it is necessary to find out the defects of the present system. For example, to analyse the development of western academy and locate our present place ;to make the teachimg more rational,systematic and scientific; to adopt more creative approaches; to cherish our tradition; to pay attention to the negative role of camara.
