Analysis On The Ecological Novels Which Originated From The Twenty-first Century

It was against the world-wide crisis of ecology that the global ecological literature underwent an apparently rapid development. Since the twenty-first century, the Chinese ecological literature remaining under the mixed influence of both Chinese and western trend of thoughts has kept its development. Through the deep interpretation of the background for the ecological novels during this period and the summary of their characters, this article aims to explore and summarize the roles which novels of this variety play in showing the very origin of ecological crisis, anti-anthropocentrism and the relation between human being and the nature. It also points out its deficiencies such as less deep groundwork of its productions, the lack of scientific sense and the lowness in the degree of its involvement..The whole article consists of three chapters. With a special focus on the background for the birth of the Chinese ecological novels, the first chapter mainly shows the soil which cultivated the birth of the ecological novels in the new century and historical tradition by exploring the essential meaning of the ecological literature and summarizing the development of ecological novels both at home and abroad. The second chapter deals with the classification of the ecological novels according to ecological obligations and revelation. From the angle of ecological obligations where an emphasis is put, this chapter also makes an intensive analysis of three types of the novels with the local characters (animal ecological novels, area ecological novels and children ecological novels). It also focuses on the conception of ecology and advanced thoughts. The third chapter deals with both the achievements and deficiencies of the current Chinese ecological novels. On one hand, the article gradually furthers its focus from microcosmic elements onto the writers and their works, tending to outline and erect several classic samples of contemporary Chinese ecological literature. On the other hand, its outline of the status of the ecological literature which have developed since the 21st century also contributes to the further expansion of the views for the ecology comments, shows a clearer picture of the coordinate for the research of ecology and promotes the formation of words of ecology. Through the systematization of the ecological novels aimed at propelling the analysis of the works concerned, this article achieves a decent and dynamic pattern of circulation which comprises the explanation of context, rearrangement of the criticism and the research of theory. This article is also expected to serve as reference for the gradual establishment of the culture on indigenous ecological comments.
