Social anxiety is an anxiety related to social interaction. As a phenomenon which indicates a negative interpersonal interaction, social anxiety influences the quality of interpersonal interaction. It has been proved that cognitive-behavioral group therapy was effective for social anxiety. Countless researches have been made by conducting this therapy, unfortunately, the research aims at senior students in high schools is relative less. Therefore, this study will explore whether cognitive-behavioral group therapy could be employed to alleviate the anxiety level for senior students in high school.Senior one students from the Affiliated Middle School to Soochow University were selected as subjects. This research aims to investigate whether the intervention by conducting cognitive-behavioral group therapy will be effective to decrease the social anxiety level for students, and meanwhile, effective approach to alleviate social anxiety for senior students in middle school is to be found.Results showed as follows:1.The social anxiety level in experimental group students is obviously decreased. After the intervention with cognitive-behavioral group therapy, the anxiety lever in experimental group students is obviously decreased. It indicates that cognitive-behavioral group therapy works well in decreasing social anxiety level for senior one students in middle school.2.The social anxiety lever in self-taught group is not decreased. The anxiety lever in self taught is not decreased in the form of self taught. It indicates that self taught is ineffective in decreasing anxiety level for senior one students.3.The social anxiety lever in comparison group is not decreased. The social anxiety is not alleviated with the passage of time, and it indicates that social anxiety will be not alleviated with the passage of time. Furthermore, it indicates that various effective interventions should be taken in order to decrease the social anxiety level for students.
