It is well known that the Chinese ancient China society tookthe family-unit as the unit of coordinates and family influence affectedsociety's vicissitude. An influential family in the ancient China neededa series of conditions to be supported: First, enough family members; Next,certain economic potentiality; Third, "the talented person" in everygeneration of the family, once more, these talented people took someofficial positions of national and local government, including civil andarmy officials; Fourth, the family had influence in spiritual or culturaldomain; Last, the history had ever given the family certain opportunities.The Ancient China Fang family had some talented person and took an importantpart in the ancient China political and society in more than 300 years.Nowadays, the studies on Fang family in ancient China have become popularinternationally, but the domestic achievement in the family's researchis far from enough. On this condition, it is expected that the present studywould provide an important research case, and provide a social-historystudy view for the ancient China society's research.The paper altogether is divided into seven parts. The first and secondparts are general descriptions. The first part is "the overview of theresearch, the material and the method", which makes summarizes andexplanation to the previous research on Fang family, and points out theresearch materials and the methods which this article use. It is hoped thatit would enable the reader to have a general understanding to the entirearticle. The second part is "the surname origin and its development ofhistorical geography", the surname originated corrected the mistake of"Xin Tang Shu that mainly gather the early history", which is "all of Fang,did originate from Qinghe". This paper also points out the Fang family havetwo origins: one came from the Qi surname, namely Qinghe Fang; the othercame from the minority, changed from Wuyin family, namely Henan Fang. Theevolution of historical geography mainly pointed out that the Qinghe county's capital—Yimu, which Qinghe Fang originated, did not belongto the Qinghe county during the Sui and Tang dynasties, but belonged toinle Country, which was one of nine countries in Ping Yuan county. At thattime, Qinghe Yimu Fang was only a concept, and no longer had any practicalsignificance. The goal of above elaboration aims at helping the reader tohave an understanding about the origin of Fang-family and the evaluationof Yimu's historical geography. And help the reader to understand clearlyabout this article's research scope.The third and fourth parts are one of the article's main bodies. Thethird part is "the linkage research about the Qinghe Fang and Henan Fanglineage", with the aid of the massive inscriptions and the correlationhistorical records, and it also corrects some misunderstandings of "NewTang history's Prime minister Lineage Table", has filled the insufficiencyof "Prime minister Lineage Table". It also rearranges the spreadingsituation of this family member's lineage. The fourth part is an analysisof "the Fang family's official situation in the Ancient China", throughtabulated statistics analysis of the Henan Fang and the Qinghe Fang'sofficial situation, and explained the differences or similarities of Fangfamily through the long historical periods during Nanbei dynasties andSui-tang Dynasties. Finally, the article makes a summary about threeprime-minister's experiences as official and their historicalcontributions. Above all, it is concluded that this family member's viewfield is nimble, they could hold the opportunity which the history entrustswith, seek the suitable developing space which appeared two developmentpeaks during the Nanbei Dynasties and the Sui-Tang dynasties. The goal ofthese two parts is to enable the readers to understand Fang familycomprehensively and systematically in ancient China time, unfold the Fangfamily's whole picture in the ancient China.Fifth and sixth parts also are also the key points of this article.The fifth part is about "Fang family's culture in the Ancient China". whichis obtained from the historical data. Elaborating Fang family's culturalinside separately from the family tradition and the family study, this partmakes a detail description of the family culture, and summarizes the family culture's historical function which handed down from generations. Theelaboration's goal is causes the reader understand clearly that theancient China Fang family has deep cultural implication which alsomaintains Fang family for several hundred years. The culture is the reasonwhy Fang family is scholar-bureaucrats but not officials from family ofcommoners. The sixth part is "the ancient China Fang family's maritalsituation". This part explains Fang family's marital orientation throughtabulates statistical. We can know that the political marriage influentthe family clearly, thus explain the influence of political marriage toofficial instability. And by the influence of the female to the family, thearticle explaines that the good culture accomplishment of the female tookan importance part in the development of family.The seventh part is "the ancient China Fang family's economicalsituation". It is a brief research of this family's economical conditionfrom the source of income and the economic potentiality.
