The "Desire" discussed in the paper is taken from the systematic study of the philosophical proposition developed in the 20th century continental philosophy. This chapter adopts the philosophical hermeneutics propositions as the theoretical framework, introduces William R. Catton, Jr.'s "A Theory of Value" published in American Sociological Review as reference, and attempts to study the "Translating Desire" of the translator in the process of translation. From this it analyzes the "Desiderata" of the translator (something the translator desires for, which in the translation sense it refers to the desiderated translation) and proves that the actual translation can hardly coincide with the conceived translation. The paper then investigates the properties and reveals the philosophical implications of the translating desire and their applicability to translation by aiming to construct a mathematical module and state 3 related hypotheses. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Desire, Translating Desire, Hermeneutics, Value Theory, Desiderata | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
