| The Book of Changes is an ancient-China philosophical workwhich has a leading position in Five classics and has greatinfluence on aesthetic ideas in China as well as the whole world. Itis the result of ancients' long-time touching and deep recognizing tothe nature. Its deep and profound philosophical theories andaesthetic ideas are the mental sources of Chinese culture and art.The development of Chinese landscape painting is closely relatedto the aesthetic principles from the Book of Changes.The Book of Changes' glorification to the nature's inherentenergetic charm, profound understanding to the nature which isfull of magical fluctuations but compatible integration, and theaesthetic consciousness—everything has its life andspirituality—deeply nourish the field of Chinese landscapepainting.This essay aims to, by using historical and dialecticalanalytical method, study the aesthetic ideology of the lines, thebrushstrokes, the presentation and the mood of landscape paintingand search for the aesthetic origin of landscape painting in thephilosophy of the Book of Changes.
