During the early period of the Zionism movement, there were a very intense conflict between Zionism and the Vatican. The goal of the Zionism movement, which is returning to their native land and reconstructing the Judea country, led to the Holy See's opposition. On the one hand, the Holy See stood on the theological position to oppose the Jew. They thought that Christ had predicted in Jerusalem that the Jew would be destroyed……that the Jew would be punished to be slaves and banished all of the world till the end of the world……According to the Good Book, the Jewry must always live separately and tramped among the other nations, so that they may render the witness to Christ not only by the the Good Book……but by their very existence, so they would not allow Palestine to be returned back to the hand of Christ's murder. On the other hand, the Holy See coveted the Palestinian land. Following the unification of Italy, the relation between the Holy See and the Italian government became strained because of "the Roman question". As a result of the Italian government's obstruction, Vatican realized that it was impossible to resolve "the Roman question". So, it paid its attention back to Palestine. In Holy Land's conflict, both Zionism and the Holy See were all trying to win the support of Powers to achieve respective intention. The Holy See attempted to ensure their occupying certain rights at Palestine in the future and restoring the Holy See past prestige. On the contrary, the Zionism, who wanted to realize its ideals reconstructing their hometown with the aid of the great powers, opposed strongly the internationalization of the Palestine. After the outbreak of the First World War, Weizmann as the head of the Zionist succeeded in winning the British unwavering support. The two incidents, which included Balfour Declaration and the British control of Palestine, had very far-reaching influence on the Zionism and the Holy See. Thanks to the publication of Balfour Declaration, the Zionism organization wan a official support from a powerful nation for the first time. Moreover, the controlling over Palestine by the British army enhanced greatly the implementation of the Balfour Declaration. Conversely, the Holy See not only faced the challenge came from Zionism who wan the British's help, but also its claim that the Hole Land must be internationalized and its intention to the Hole Land were intended to be a failure. Therefore, the Holy See turned to the Catholic countries such as France to cope with the threat coming from the Holy Land. Because France came to the agreement with English for dividing the booty on Middle East question and gave up its support to the Vatican, the Vatican was defeated in the conflict with the Zionism at Palestine.Being base on the Chinese and English material, the paper attempts to stand on Chinese standpoint to study the problem of the relation between Zionism and the Holy See. the author put this problem on the international situation at that time and emphatically solved the origin and the changes of relation between both sides and so on .
