If we view Bei Cun's novels on the whole background of Chinese Literature, we will find they are differential being. Bei Cun is the first writer who makes public statement about believing in Christ in China. Correspondly, his creation appears two different style, the works of the previous period are typical vanward experimental texts, which place emphasis on formal research; the works of the later period introduce the new substance of the deiform redemption, which shapes typical"deiform writing"text. So,Bei Cun entered the reserchers'field of view as one of the vanward writers, his high-sounding formal revolution won the readers'high favor. When he believes in the God, researchers discourse on his critical spirit and his redemption consciousness mostly from the respect of the culture of Christianity, psychology and narrate. This treatise considers that Bei Cun is a writer who has strong being feeling. Between the experimental texts and the"deiform writing"text, there is a concise and exclusive theme: experiences the life and its being, and the guide is his Ultimate Concern. So this treatise discourses on Bei Cun's novels by existentialism, to comprehend the individual's in the text actual existence state and his/her free selection in the text, and to inquire the significance of Bei Cun's"concerning being writing"and its predicament. The first chapter concerning about the Chinese existence predicament and the spiritual crisis in the end of the century, when Bei Cun was just entering the literary world, and concerning about the Existentialism's influence to Bei Cun, explores the spiritual tendency behind Bei Cun's formal experimental texts, and views the reflection of people's existence predicament and the spiritual crisis on the texts. There is a similar route in the"Zhe Shuo"series: Escape-Lost- Death. All the traps are set in the"lost"—the"lost"reveals the double"lost"in the inner and outside of the texts: the lost of narrate and the lost of Bei Cun who explores the spiritual way. Although it's just"a strayer was narrating a maze", he is a strayer who is seeking. The works of the later period ruin the maze absolutely, and put emphasis on revealing the primary pain of human being directly, it is the Lust, the Fear and the Vanity. The primary pain cannot find the actual hurt, it's abstract and being pain, it originates from the lust, and the lust originates from the human's feeling of noumenal vanity. When people lie in the vast vanity which cannot satisfy the lust, it will produce unspeakable fear. So concerning the primary pain is just concerning the very staff of life, Bei Cun finds a new way to concern the life by writing. Bei Cun also involves the"black"theme of existentialism: Hopeless, many people in the texts are infected the"deadly disease". By reading the characters who are in Hopeless and"recollecting the Hopeless's contradictory", we can actually understand the concept of"Hopeless". The above is a static analysis to the characters'actual existence state.Bei Cun is a unique writer in the contemporary literary world in that he, as a Christian, insists on writing conscientiously in spite of the chaotic situation in the literary world. His works, under the guidance of his religious belief, directly explores the significance of contemporary human existence, and the living conditions of the GRAY people, therefore, he becomes one of the few who firmly believe in the necessity of the healing of human spirits. As a result, his works are always disputed. This paper, based on careful reading of Bei Cun's works, and integrated with the relevant theories of existentialism, endeavors to analyse the meaning of the healing of human spirits and its embodiment in his works, and also to read the living conditions of contemporary people, their spiritual world, the aesthetic imago in his works. This paper focuses on the analysis on and research of the healing of human spirits which can be found easily in Bei Cun's novels. In Chapter I, the first intension of Bei Cun's novels was deduced, that is, human beings need to be healed. Chapter 2analyses the origin why human are so painful and desperate and deduces the second intension of the healing of human spirits: searching for the origin of human sorrow and desperation. Chapter 3 explores the continuous struggles of human beings for self-salvation and the possible ways of salvation, that is, the third intension of healing of human spirits: human beings must be healed and rescued while at the same time human beings usually are not able to save themselves. Thus a question appears: how should humans be saved? In the first three parts, Bei Cun focuses on the reason why humans must be saved and the ways of human salvation. The fourth part sum arises the remarkable characteristics in his writing. The Summary of this paper explores the significance and influence of Bei Cun's efforts and looks forwards to the future writing of Bei Cun.
