The Research Of The Similar Chinese Characters In The Contempory Chinese Characters

The similar Chinese Characters refer to those characters which are similar in form. It is a special phenomena occurring in Chinese Character system. Because of the characteristics of the writing system, It existed since the Chinese Characters originated. As the development of the Characters'form, the grapheme simplified, the stroke replaced the line. The words in the language are infinite. But the character diversification is limited. So it is unavoidable the similar Chinese Character existed. As a writing system, people hope it can be simplified as much as possible so that it can be more easily to use. But from the aspect of identification, people prefer it can be easily identified. The similar Chinese Character is one of the main reasons that people make mistakes when writing and reading. So it is extremely important to discriminate between the similar Chinese Characters. Distinctiveness is an essential property of written symbols. Different writing systems have different ways to distinguish between symbols.This text divides into there chapters altogether. The first chapter is to summarize the production of the former research. Including the research of the similar Chinese Characters in historical dictionaries, the research of the similar Chinese Characters in modern Chinese, the research about the similar Chinese Characters in the character teaching to the foreigners. The second chapter is to summarize the features of distinctiveness according to the similar Chinese Characters in the contemporary Chinese. The features of the distinctiveness involve the stoke aspect and the component aspect. The stroke aspect of the Chinese Character consists of the stroke feature, the stroke count, the stroke relationship, the stroke position. The Chinese Character component aspect consists of the feature of the Chinese Character component, the character components function, the component position and count. The similar Chinese Character also can be divided into single similar Character and compound similar Character. The single ones can be mainly distinguished from the stroke aspect while the compound ones can be mainly distinguished from the component aspect.The research of this paper based on the grapheme of the similar Chinese Character, analyzed the features of distinctiveness, and explored the way to the foreign students.
