This paper presents the results of research regarding the effectiveness of using quantitative calculation methodologies to identify Business Chinese vocabulary. This study uses a compilation of articles published by the Chinese language business publication Jingji Ribao (Economic Daily) in the years from 2004 through 2006 as the underlying data for analysis. Simple and complex quantitative computation methods are used to analyze the data which is accessed through a large-scale Chinese Dynamic Circulation Corpus. The study assumes that there are two distinct types of target business vocabulary: 1. common business common words, and 2. general words with above-average use in business. At first simple quantitative calculation methods were used to extract commonly used business words. While this method proved acceptable several shortcomings were also observed. In response, complex quantitative calculation methods were also utilized. Furthermore,"Weici Bijiao Fa,"– a new computer-assisted analysis methodology– was developed to help evaluate which general words have business characteristics. The research involved is a response to the lack of comprehensive Business Chinese vocabulary sets targeted specifically to the education needs of large international companies.Conclusions:1. Using the new coefficient "General usage" complex quantitative calculation methods improves on the capabilities of simple quantitative calculation methods and can report the utilization of business-related vocabulary more effectively while also improving the stability of the vocabulary lists;2. The use of"Weici Bijiao Fa"as a method for extracting general words with special business characteristics has been tested and verfied;3. By combining complex quantitative calculation methods with"Weici Bijiao Fa"It is possible to successfully extract business-related vocabulary from large a corpus. This study involved the separate analysis of business vocabulary for each single year of data. The result of this analysis is a business-related Chinese vocabulary list which is derived form the text of the Jingji Ribao (Economic Daily) articles in the years 2004 through 2006...
