By means of studying individual cases of two second foreign language teachers at college, this paper is intended to explore their real teaching concept and view of course out of their actual teaching practice so as to reveal the influence of their view of foreign language course on their professional development. This paper adopts such methods as interview, research, reference, and etc. to approach their working and life experience, thus depicting their growth stories in their profession. From this, a conclusion is drawn that the view of foreign language course has a great significance on the professional growth for foreign language teachers. Course factors are divided into covert and overt, therefore, only if teachers can have a better understanding of these two factors and transform the covert factor to the overt with consciousness, can teachers establish a sound and complete view of course in order to obtain great motivations for their profession.The thesis firstly generalizes the definition of curriculum and the evolution of curriculum theory. All theories of this filed have already developed into maturity, thus, the thesis aim at carding and digging up the correlation between theory and teacher's development. While for the new angle of view of curriculum theory—potential curriculum theory. The thesis emphasize on the rootstock of its forming, properties and significant influence on teacher's development. On the part of analyzing cases, the thesis firstly states the investigation background, aim, method and design. On the basis of previous investigation, we get following revelation through disposing and analyzing the investigation data: college second language teaching has sharp-cut particularity. It is necessary to pay more attention on the factor of curriculum view's influence upon second language teacher's development. The improvement of Curriculum view has significant meaning for promoting teacher's self-development circle to a higher level. In foreign language curriculum reformation, leading and nurturing teacher's curriculum view should be highlighted. |
