| Today's styles of jewelry design in our domestic market are all based on the model ofindustrial production, so they are produced massive and standardized. In this way, the largenumber of identical styles can't meet the various needs of the consumers with differentpersonalities. To some extent, it has restrained a larger consumption in the jewelry market,which also has influenced the development of the whole jewelry industry. As a conclusion, thetendency in jewelry design is individuation and high tasting, so we have to add the ideas fromdifferent cultures into our designs, because the jewelry with culture backgrounds is the symbol ofindividuation and high tasting. And this will be sure win a lot of customers in the future.After gathering and arranging the materials in Qin and Han dynasties, the author analyses itshistory backgrounds and social customs, its forms of arts, its style of expression, and its way ofwearing jewelry, and summarized and refined the elements in the Qin and Han dynasties that caninspire our jewelry design. They are: the naive and significant world with the unite of emotionand scene, the abundance of disordered pattern design which full of Romantic feelings, themajestic shaping manners without any deliberate ornament which shows the elegance of ourpeople in Han dynasties. The vigorous, unadorned lines which show the charm of magnanimous,robust line manners, and the plain and neat colors which show the solemn and quiet.We merge all these essences into our modern jewelry design, and in the same time, we add somemodern ideas into the field of shaping manners and selection of materials.We also developed some design methods, for example, the method of "shaping according to itsimagery", and some creating elements principles.The author design some Conceptual design works, such As Han palace under the autumnmoon, Red phoenix flying to the sun, Golden sword and shining armor, galloping in the sky, andalso some Commercial designs as a series of Han palace under the autumn moon, a series of Redphoenix flying to the sun in the thesis. All these works explained how to combine the arts spiritfrom the Qin and Han dynasties and its special style and elements with the modern jewelrydesign, in which way we could follow the tendency of individuation and high tasting, making ourdesigns shining with the brilliance of the national culture on the world scene!... |
