A Survey And Study On The Using Status And Attitude About The Writing Systems Being Used In Zhuang

At present, there are three kinds of writing systems being used among thepeople of Zhuang----the ancient Zhuang characters, the new Zhuang charactersand Chinese characters. The ancient Zhuang characters were created under the direct influence of Chinese characters, by borrowing Chinese characters and theirs strokes and using the method of the Chinese Characters' creation, have been generated over a thousand years, still using in the Zhuang folks currently. The new Zhuang characters were created in the 1950s using Arabic alphabet with the help of the state, and promoted as the official characters in the Zhuang region. Chinese Characters were the nation' s official common Characters in Chinese history, naturally be widely used among the people of Zhuang and has higher prestige.The text uses the research methods of the social linguistic, taking the ancient Zhuang characters as the center, does a questionnaire and some individual interviews in the regions which the ancient Zhuang characters are widely used. We investigated the using status and attitude of the three kinds of writing systems, and then did a data statistics. We do a comparison among the three kinds of writing systems, in order to get the overall of the using status and attitude about the three kinds of writing systems. And does a special research to the ancient Zhuang characters, analyses the using and the attitude about it, researches the relationship between the ancient Zhuang characters and gender, age or cultural level. Then studies the positive and negative factors of its appearance and existence, predicts the development trend, by combining the social and cultural background of it.
