A Research On The Du Mingxin's Piano Suite 《the Red Women's Army》

The red women's army , a piano suit composed by famous composer Du Mingxin according to the dance drama of the same name is weighty in art value and history. Some tunes thereof are listed compulsory courses for piano learners and still popular today.This paper summarizes the overall characteristics of the piano cento based on analyses of music image, musical form and playing skills of the seven individual tunes therein, including Drill of the Women Soldiers, Five-Inch Dagger Dance by the Red Militia Men, Cheong-Hua Joins the Army, The Soldiers and Cicilians are of One Family, The Merry Dance of The Girl Soldiers, Changqing Dies A Martyr and Onward March, on the purpose of giving an interpretation of the musical style and art characteristics of the whole works and providing theoretical references for piano teachers and players.
