Study On HouRen Motif

Motif is the human spirit phenomenon and basic behavior which appear in the literature works again and again. Motif research explores the primitive morphology of human spiritual retrospection and basic behavior appeared again and again by a way for tracing to origins with macroscopic viewpoint and systemic research method, at the same time, investigates the theologizing and integration of these spiritual retrospection and basic behavior. Currently, motif research in Chinese literature research have tended to plot motif in narrate literary works separated from image motif in lyric literary works, and plot motif research of narrate literate works is the mainstream. This paper tries to looking for the situation model lurked in lyric literary works (this paper only limited in lyric poetry), constructs motif expressing form of lyric literary works by narrative motif. Attempt to construct a new motif mode _Hou-Ren Motif, bring the literary works which have the core connotation of"waiting" and "anticipation" into a same motif mode Reconsidering them and give it a comprehensive research by motif angle.First, this paper limits the research scope of HouRen motif in the poetry of Pre-Han Dynasty and gives them a classification research. Second, excavates the cultural implication and aesthetic implication thoroughly. This paper investigates the distinct character of HouRen Motif - - passive pursuit and feminine temperament and multi-angle analysis the cultural origin that caused this character's formation: developed farming civilization and the feminine consciousness came into being from it ; the gregarious consciousness of Confucian culture and life pursuit that people seeks value orientation in temporality world and ethics network; the passive of value evaluation of morality; the conception that doing something in accordance with denomination restricted by etiquette caused by patriarchal clan system and classification order, the conception of moral commensuration with authority. Third, perspective this motif on aesthetics from three aspects: beauty of tension on inner form, beauty of grief and desolation on affect, beauty of implication on style character.The last chapter summarizes the later changes of HouRen motif in later period. It showed that motif hided deeply and motif strengthened in Wei-Jin Period; motif concentrated in Tang and Song dynasties; motif transferred to novels and dramas. This motif have continued and developed in contemporary literature. There is a larger research space for this motif.
