On Chu Decorative Patterns And Its Application

Chu culture, extensive and profound, has bred various decorative patterns. Rich in intension and unique in shape, were delicately formed and gaily colored. In visual view, its way of expressing meaning of visual sign had a similarity with that of modern art. However, we knew Chu decorative patterns from aesthetic and culture aspects. So known more about Chu culture from design aspect, we may well be positively in explaining Chu decorative patterns. This is not only what local design culture development requires, but also an efficient way of application and development of Chu decorative patterns.This paper, on the basis of the application of decorative patterns in modern design, illustrated the constructive features in design. By comparison research, the author introduced the great worth in enriching design language, spreading Chu culture and putting local image, like enterprise, product and city by applying decorative patterns to visual expressing design, product design and space design.
