The difference between these two articles were that Ulysses depicted mainly about person's banishing and drifting, but long-voyage particular emphasized on the short return to oneself. The day wandering of Bloom in Ulysses seems no connection with Odysseus, but in spirit their suffering in vagrancy is the same; Newman in long-voyage seems abiding Odysseus's route, but when Odysseus leaded a way home, on contrary, Newman goes back to society where he cannot find himself. These two articles tell us a same thing that is no matter how modern people struggle to get away from alienation, they will never succeed.
