The maintext is divided five chapters to carry on the elaboration.The quotation introduce the summary of Tang poem anthology, the statusand character of Shen Deqian's "An Anthology of Tang poems", the presentsituation of researching it and this article' s meaning and target.The first chapter is Shen Deqian' s biography and his poetical written.In the second chapter, through analysing the background of ShenDeqian's "An Anthology of Tang poems", we thought Shen Deqian did hisbest to collect Tang poems, there were two aspects reason: subjectivelyspeaking, Shen wanted to trace Confucianist tradition and develop chinesepoems, as well as he liked Tang poems very much and expected to providethe model for descendant; objectively, Shen compiled the anthology becausehe lived in a stable and prosperous society, poetical atmosphere, the influence of Tang and Song poems' discussion and the defect of the previousTang poem anthology.The third chapter discusses the standard of Shen Deqian's" AnAnthology of Tang poems". Shen Deqian was the representative of "the styletheory". He emphasized "the style theory" in poems. And "An Anthology ofTang poems" can called the representative works of this theory. Firstly,Shen chose the poems comprehensively and plentifully to reflect generalapperance of Tang Dynasty. Secondly, the standard of this compilation werecomprehensive and systematic, the standard had four aspects, includingobjective, style, syllable and charm, and had its successive order. To theobjective of poems, Shen Deqian emphasized on the content of poems and theselected poems displayed the Confucianist poem tradition. To the style ofpoems, Shen paid great attention to the source, fluctuation andvariation. He attended both history tradition and newly development. And theselected poems displayed the unification of magnificence and leisure.The fourth chapter discusses the criticism character of ShenDeqian's "An Anthology of Tang poems". The poetical criticism includedauthor introduction, textual research and poetic criticism. On the one hand,Shen inherited the critical style of Ming Dynasty tradition; on the otherhand, he absorbed the textual criticism at that time. By this way, hisevaluation unified the comment, research and introduction to form a newstyle. In addition, his critical language was fair and appropriate. But we thought although "An Anthologyof Tang poems" had the Confucianist poem tradition and was selected some valueless poems, "An Anthology of Tang poems" was still the classial andfamous Tang poems anthology.
