Tang dynasty not only had a prosperous political development,but alsohad a splendid achievements in culture and art, which provided literati of that time witha effective surrounding to coordinate literature and politics.With the development ofpolitics and prosperity of literature,there were a group of new typical literati asso—callde "writer—confucianists" who had a highly responsibility to the social reality,ideal sense and practical abilities in the political life.The most important character ofthis new type literati was that they essentially belonged to apparent tradition of writerhistory.They entered official by the ability of writing aesthetical articles.The reality thatthese new literati who could balance the ability of writing and morality took part in thecountry political life not only perfected the political development in the Tang dynasty,but also made the governer more aware of the important effect in the political life.Thisspecial literati coordinated the relationship between the literature and politics verywell,at same time they made a new example for many low—class literati.So this realitystrengthed the consciousness of literati being the writer and promoted the developmentof literature of that time.The prosperity of Tang dynasty's culture was based on thesespecial group of literati from the angle of talented men.The introduction traces back to development of writer before Tang dynasty andanalysizes the concept of "writer—confucianist". At same time I point out the importantsignificance of the reality that Wang Chong firstly put forward the"writer—confucianist" in Dong Han dynasty.First chapter expounds theoretical discussion of literati in early tang dynasty about"writer—confucianist". Their discussion is based on analysis to history of literati beforeTang dynasty.They absorbed useful experiences from the time of weijin and predictednew direction of literati personality in future.Second chapter expounds analysis to literature thoughts of Wang tong and Wang bowho were most important literatis in the family living in He Dong from the angle of"writer—confucianist".Although literature thought of Wang Tong contains strong trendof return to antients and relationship of not balancing between "writer" and"confucianist", His grandson Wang bo develops this "writer—confucianist" theory and make a balance between two concepts.Third chapter expounds analysis of Wang bo' special personality and his articlestyle. This new development in the personality and writing style indicates mature of"writer—confucianist" theory in the Wang bo' writings,which not only containsuccessful experiences of writing in the past of wei—jin time, but also forebode thecoming of literature prosperity in Sheng—Tang time.
