"Ye Tan Sui Lu " is a collection of classical Chinese novel ,whose author is He Bange, a writer in Qing dynasty. He was born in the first year of Qianlong era, and died before the sixth year of Jiaqing era. He was a progeny of a governor. Through his lifetime he experienced four stages: going to south and north with the governor, studying in the capital, being a government official, staying at home in his old age. His was abundant with life experience and extensive knowledge. He knew well about the world, and also the people's livelihood, and he usually treated persons and other things in a reasonable sight. "Ye Tan Sui Lu " is his single work that is extant, and it is also his most important work. This collection of classical Chinese novel came into being in the forty-fourth year of Qianlong era, and be firstly carved in the fifty-fourth year of Qianlong era. It was made up of the things that the author saw and heard. Besides "Ye Tan Sui Lu " , he also writed a chuanqi opera named"Yi Jiang Feng", and a collection of poems named "E Shu Zhai Shi Gao"."Ye Tan Sui Lu " inherits the "one book with two styles" characteristic of "Liao Zhai Zhi Yi " in style. The legend and note body are coexist in the book. It pursues "the reasonable aspiring monster " on creating concept. Although most writings contain gods and spirits, the whole book runs through the reasonable keynote, and then the gods and spirits are pulled back to the real land. The author admonishs, satirizes and expresses his opinion by using gods and spirits. Many wrings in the book is related to the true history events of the Qing dynasty, and it reproduces the social realities at that time in the means with art . On art, "Ye Tan Sui Lu " is inferior to "Liao Zhai Zhi Yi " .However, it will impress people deeply as some writings satirize various corrupt behaviors by using the image of ghosts and monsters. The writing of scenery depicts in some works is graceful, and it syncretizes the feelings with the scenery nicely, and then can moved readers easily. There are many kinks of assessments to "Ye Tan Sui Lu ", and compared with that to other classical Chinese novels at the same time , it has some certain historical progress.
